Culture, Power, Social Change is an interest group of the UCLA Department of Anthropology. As the title suggests, we are concerned with the dynamics of social transformation, that is, with the ways in which large‐scale structures of culture, power, economy, and so forth intersect with the experiences and practices of real actors on the ground to produce change in the past, present and future. We bring in a wide array of speakers, from both inside and outside of anthropology, and from both inside and outside of UCLA, to talk about their current research. CPSC meets on most Thursday afternoons from 4 to 6. It is open only to UCLA faculty, students, and invited guests. CPSC meets on most Thursday afternoon from 4 to 6.
