Research Projects: 1 - Stigmatization, Globalization, and Agency among HIV positive South Africans - dealing with the intersection of language and music: research focusing on linguistic practices individuals living with HIV in South Africa and the concept of 'hope', specifically focusing on members of a Zulu gospel choir.
2 - Socialization into Jazz Aesthetics (P.I. Alessandro Duranti)- also dealing with the intersection of language and music: research focusing on interaction and formal instruction in small jazz ensembles; how 'creativity' as an activity-bound and culturally constituted category is negotiated.
